Former Supermarket Owners Make Large Donation

19/3/2015

Former Pauanui Supermarket owners Sonia and Glenn Brown have made a large donation to the Pauanui to Tairua Trail project.

In an email to project chairman Gary Fowler, the couple advised that they have deposited $2,000 into the Trail bank account.

"This is a magnificent gesture for which we are extremely grateful," Mr Fowler said.

The email to Mr Fowler reads:

Hi Gary

My name is Sonia Brown, my husband and I have just sold the Supervalue supermarket in Pauanui, after owning it for 8 years. As our final gesture to the community, I have paid $2,000.00 into the Hikuai District Trust account which will process overnight tonight.

I would be grateful if we could ask for this to provide plaques on  2 seats acknowledging our donation, with the following on them, if possible:

Now that I have lots of time, I intend coming down to walk the trail with my dog. I hear it is a great walk. What a wonderful thing you are doing making such a great facility to appreciate this beautiful part pif the world. I am really looking forward to seeing  all the work you have done. I have watched your progress online and in the Pauanui Post.

I hope this donation helps you to be able to do a little more on the trail.

Kind regards

Sonia and Glenn
