Remains of mystery car in bush Mystery surrounds the remains of an old car found in remote bush alongside the Pauanui to Duck Creek section of the Trail.
Trail Chairman Gary Fowler found the car while working on a section of the trail on Monday, September 8. "How it got there is a bit of a mystery," Mr Fowler said. " It's in the bush, close to where the Trail will go, about half way along the track and is just about covered by the undergrowth. "It's almost at the bottom of a bush-covered hill, so if it was pushed off the road above it would have had to crash through bush for a long way. It would be impossible for it to have been dumped at the bottom of the hill. "if it has obviously been there a long time as the bush has grown around and through it and what remains in very rusty." Mr Fowler says he has looked for human remains at the site but discovered nothing. The car appears to have been a Morris 1100 which has had its roof removed. Mr Fowler would like to hear from anyone who can shed some light on the mystery vehicle .His email address is: [email protected] Comments are closed.
